Port Hills Pulse

Two new branches have recently been formed in the Port Hills electorate – one covering the Sydenham, Waltham, Addington, Beckenham areas (no, it’s not called SWAB!!). It’s actually called the Christchurch South branch and has a very innovative bunch of ideas to get important political messages out to local people and to receive prompt feedback.

The branch is going to combine community activity with policy discussions and social events and is on the lookout for any local issues they can be involved in.

The second branch is covering the Bromley/Linwood area and again, will be advocating for Labour involvement in local issues and Labour support for local initiatives.

The friends of the Bromley cemetery is one such group which has looked to Labour for support – and got it!  This is a small but amazingly energetic group who have transformed the Bromley cemetery from a haven for vandals and trouble to a haven of the history of our City.

If you have some spare time, drop in to the cemetery.  It now has some great signage – and gates which are very new, and are replicas of the original gates.

If you live in either of these two areas, you now have a Labour branch you can link up with.  They are keen to listen and to advocate within the Party on your behalf.

A Big Thankyou!

Thank you to everyone who supported our first garage sale at 642 Ferry Rd on Saturday either by donating quality items or buying (or both!).

We raised $512.70 for LEC funds and had a fun day. There are still plants and books available.

Please contact me if you would like to arrange a time to view for purchase.
